About Us
Hi! I’m Sammie Nasser, Owner and Lead Organizer of Think Outside the Closet.
Here’s how it all started:
Even as a kid, I was rearranging drawers, labeling things with Post-its, and organizing my Lisa Frank stickers like my life depended on it.
By college, I had leveled up: custom planners, color-coded closets, spreadsheets for everything, and a lineup of friends begging me to rescue their chaotic spaces. If it could be organized, I was on it—and I made it look damn good, too.
What started as a passion project turned into a full-blown business built on strategy, sparkle, and meeting people where they are—no shame required.
How It’s Going
My mission as an organizer? To make your space work for you—not the other way around.
That means every system we create is customized to your life, your needs, and your energy levels (because let’s be honest, not every day is a “reorganize the garage” kind of day).
I combine style with strategy, giving you beautiful solutions that aren’t just pretty to look at—they’re maintainable. I work side-by-side with every client to make sure your new setup actually supports your routines, your brain, and your home life.
If it looks amazing but you can’t keep up with it? We’re not done yet.
Organizing with Accessibility in Mind
In 2009, I was diagnosed with a nerve disorder called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). I spent years in a wheelchair navigating a world that wasn’t built for me—and let me tell you, that lit a fire in me.
I couldn’t get my wheelchair through the bathroom door. I couldn’t reach my own kitchen counters. Ramps were rare, sidewalks were treacherous, and even grabbing a hoodie from the closet became a two-person job. Independence felt just out of reach—and the price tag on traditional accessibility solutions and remodeling? Out of my budget.
So I got scrappy.
Instead of renovating my entire dorm, I found a swivel-height bar stool that let me sit at counter level, cook comfortably, and move with ease. One $60 fix made me feel powerful again. That small win sparked a big idea: What if I could do this for other people, too?
The TOTC Difference
We believe everyone deserves a space that supports their life—not just the able-bodied, the neurotypical, or the wealthy.
Whether you’re navigating disability, grief, burnout, depression, ADHD, or a full house (or all of the above), I’m here to co-create an organizing system that fits your reality. No pressure. No judgment. No cookie-cutter solutions.
Just real support. Creative problem-solving. And maybe a little glitter.
Because You Deserve More
You shouldn’t have to give up your independence because of a disability.
You shouldn’t have to drop $10K on custom construction and remodeling just to USE and enjoy your own home.
And you definitely shouldn’t feel ashamed for needing a little help.
At Think Outside the Closet, we don’t just organize—we empower. We adapt. We cheer you on. And we create systems that help you love where (and how) you live.
